Q: 5.5GB free space missing from iPad, 2GB went missing in a week
I have noticed this problem when I freed up some GBytes of space after I got a report that there is no more free space on my iPad. I made about 2GB available by deleting some of my videos. The problem happened then: the 2GB of free space filled up in a week, without me installing any new software or recording/downloading a video, taking a photo. I simply just used the apps, but again, at the end of the week I received a report: "No more free space". This situation seemed strange to me, so I did some calculations:
I have a 16GB iPad 4. According to the info in the Settings:
Capacity: 12.2GB
Available: 229MB
When I check in the storage info how much space the particular apps take alltogether, I caclulated that it is 6.5GB
It means 5.5GB is simply missing free space. How can you reclaim that? I guess this is some caching problem, but I find it very very inconvenient and upsetting that you have 2GB free space, and it filles up with cache in a week. Especially when I needed to delete my videos to free up space. I wonder if I would wipe off all my documents, how long would it take for the apps to fill the newly gained space up again?
Is there a powerful software to get rid of the cache instantly? Some suggested Battery Doctor, but it is useless, it wants to reinstate 200MB. Tutorials I found online about making free space are also, most of them are for beginner users who has no clue about cache at all. They only let you know how to delete your documents, etc. Things that are obviously not the problem here. The problem is that while using my iPad, GBytes of free space disappear without saving any new document. I haven't found any tutorial that addresses this problem.
