Jan 5, 2016 1:15 PM in response to NorthDown2by KiltedTim,Yes, it can be upgraded, but not easily. The memory slots are not accessible without taking it apart. That means removing the display panel, etc.

Jan 6, 2016 11:53 AM in response to NorthDown2by babowa,★HelpfulHere are the installation instructions for iMacs - choose your model (which would be the late 2015 27" I assume):
Install memory in an iMac - Apple Support
And you were correct - 21" model are not upgradeable, but the 27" models are very easy to do. Just put additional RAM in the empty slots (there are a total of 4) and buy it in pairs, like 2 x 8 GB.

Jan 6, 2016 11:58 AM in response to Old Toadby NorthDown2,Yes have only ever used Crucial - to speed up an old HP1200 laser printer, a graphite 1st gen iMac and the 3rd gen white iMac in current use. Was confident enough to fit the memory myself on the 3rd gen white iMac so sound promising that I should be able to tackle the new one.
Again thanks to all, I didn't want to buy a new machine and find I couldn't upgrade - I prefer to buy, use 2 or 3 years and then add more but jsut making sure that an easy upgrade path was there.
