You can either pay for it with a one-time payment of $649 or you can buy it through the upgrade program where you pay $32.45 per month for 24 months with the option to turn it in for an upgrade after 12 months.

In order to participate in the annual upgrade plan, you MUST select a carrier and service plan at the time of purchase. If you buy a SIM free phone from Apple, you are eligible for the finance option, but NOT the upgrade program. The finance option is basically a term-limited interest free loan from Barclay Bank (Barclay pays Apple in full at the time of purchase, and you owe Barclay the full retail purchase price of the phone spread over 18 months with no interest).

US price does not include taxes which must be paid at time of purchase;

French price includes VAT. Warranty will be valid only in US - should need

arise, you will have to return the iPhone to Apple US personally or via

friend/relative/co-worker as Apple will not accept international shipment

for evaluation nor ship out of US after repair/replacement. 4G/LTE will

most likely not work in France.

Apple advises that you should buy your iPhone where you intend to use it

to avoid the above problems (and others). EU is considered one country

for warranty purposes.
