iPod shuffle 3rd generation earphones with remote

I own an iPod shuffle 3rd generation bought around 6 years back. I wasn't using it for a couple of years now but of late, I am eager to start using it because of it compactness and great quality but unfortunately the older earphones aren't working. Can you please suggest the right set of earphones that can be used with this model ? I heard the latest ones aren't compatible. Any specific model numbers, or any other details of the compatible earphones would be of great help!

Dear sushant172,

I have very recently found my iPod shuffle 3g from the wardrobe after nearly 5 years and i am very much happy to find it working... still well. The headphone came with it was already used up completely. Finding no other way, I have started using Xiaomi basic in-earphones and I was taken aback when that pair worked smoothly. The only problem is the remote on it that is not supported by the device. So, some basic functions are absent... like, you cannot change tracks or turn up or turn down volume. But the output quality is good+.

I don't have a recommendation for headphones, but you can get an adapter like this one

that provides the control buttons. You can then use any standard headphones with the 3rd gen shuffle. There are several similar products. I don't have personal experience with them.

Thank you Kenichi, but I find this or any such adapters are not available in India. I am having a hard time finding a replacement. Apple could have handled this better. I 'm just stuck here with nowhere to go.

I also saw a similar Belkin product listed on eBay.in.

If you want Apple's headphones that work with 3rd gen shuffle, it's the version before the current "EarPods" headphones, sold as replacement headphones for iPhone. It has a microphone that is not used with iPod shuffle, but the control buttons should work. Electronics stores that sell Apple products may still have stock.
