Thank you for using Apple Support Communites.
It is sounding like you purchase a song from iTunes on your iPhone and that song is added to your Apple Music and is not available when you are not connected to Wi-Fi. This is how Apple Music is designed to work. If you have music you want to listen to even when you do not have an internet connection, you will need to download it to listen to offline. This article addresses adding music to your Apple Music catalog, including downloading it to listen offline. Click on the box "Download music to listen to offline" to take you to that section of the article.
Add music from the Apple Music catalog to your library on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, or PC
Best regards.

Jan 7, 2016 4:11 PM in response to jeffd55by bduplan,I did downloaded them with the itunes app on the phone, but they are songs that were at one time on the phone. This seems to happen from time to time and I have to go back in and download them. Previously, I have done that via the itunes "purchased" page, but I just did what you said. They are on the phone for now, but we'll see how long they stay there. Thanks for the help.
