How to setup voicemail for iphone 6 in india

Airtel don't have servers are backend infrastructure to enable Voice Message button on iPhone, I have been in touch with them from past 1 month, Airtel technician team don't have knowledge on this issue or they are not trying to upgrade themselves regarding this issue, I don't think even this issue is taken up with company management to upgrade their infrastructure, currently with Airtel 52555 is only option and there is no notification option available, so every day and every hour you need to dial 52555 option and check your VM.

Please let me know if you have used or shifted to any other carrier and used VM on iPhone, so that I will shift to that carrier.

You still need to go back to your carrier until they sort it out. Voicemail or otherwise is a carrier problem and nothing to do with your phone, so go and continue to pester your carrier until they sort it out for you.

Nobody else here can do anything to help you. This is not a phone problem but a carrier problem. Contact your carrier again.

Hey Kartheek I am facing the same problem in my iPhone 6s and my carrier is Vodafone. I tried all the solutions I found so far and tried contacting both my carrier as well as Apple support but both were unable to help me. As its not a phone problem so Apple support representative asked me to contact my carrier once again but my carrier said they don't know what is Visual Voicemail service. I currently do call the voicemail no. to check my voice mails but the voicemail button doesn't works and gives same voicemail call failed error. If anyone knows any solution please help. Thank you.

This works for me. But please note it is not the same as visual voice mail what you get in USA.

It works the classical way.

To activate voice mail in Airtel (Karnataka region).

Dial

Step1 dial *321*671#

This will activate voicemail in your Airtel phone

Or

Send SMS: START VMS to 52555

Step2 dial 52555

Follow the instructions and enter your new 4 digit pin

To activate call forwarding to voice mail during busy dial *67*9840011999#

If busy

Check Status: *#67*11#

Activate: *67*9840011999*11#

Deactivate: #67*11#

if no answer

Check Status: *#61*11#

Activate: *61*9840011999*11*[sec]# choose anything 5 to 30 secs

Deactivate: #61*11#

If unreachable

Check Status: *#62*11#

Activate: *62*9840011999*11#

Deactivate: #62*11#

I had the same problem, and here is the solution.

from your keypad key in *5005*86*XXX# and press the call button. XXX is your voicemail number. for Mumbai Vodafone its 51234.

Now check with your voicemail icon, this should work.

NOT USEFUL TRIED *5005*86*52555# on Airtel Give some useful stuff.

Contact Airtel.

HAve you reset your settings and tried *5005*86*52555#

My friend had the same issue. I told him to call himself from his phone ofcourse and the call connected him to his voicemail. I hope this resolves your problem.

I am also unable to configure the Voicemail button on Airtel. When I called the Airtel customer care, they said that they are not responsible for iPhone settings.
