Q: Buying used macbook. How do you check a serial number

I'm thinking about buying a used Macbook Pro (private party). Is their a way to check serial number to make sure it is not stolen. What do I need to do to have it transferred to my name?

I would also enter SN here to check status of warranty and if it is a valid SN

Click on the apple icon on top left…click on about this mac…and then on more info...
