The Apple Store should be able to look that information up when you take the MacBook into them.

You really should not post personal data on these public forum where it can be harvested by the scammers. I requested that the Host edit it for your protection.

Apple should be able to verify you are the owner and you can add AppleCare without issue.  Do not wait until *exactly one year after* purchase ... sometimes the "actual day of sale" is counted against you.

Also ... you should not post system serial numbers in this open forum ... someone else may use that SN for their own purposes.  I asked the hosts to remove it this time.

Since you appear to be in contact with the owner under whose AppleID the Mac is registered to, have them sign in https://supportprofile.apple.com/ and see what Apple reports for the unit. In order to be eligible for AppleCare coverage, it has to say that "Repairs and Service Coverage: Active" and will even offer "Get the AppleCare Protection Plan to extend the technical support and hardware repair coverage to 3 years..."

Note that they can buy and activate AppleCare already, you work out the details of the payment. AppleCare belongs to the device it is activated for, so it transfers when it is sold to someone else.
