Image capture is not recognizing my iOS devices.

When I connect iPhones (5c, 5 and 6xplus and iPad Air) I am able to manage music and apps but photos/videos will not import into my iMac. When I upgraded the OS recently everything imported automatically into photos and not iPhoto as it previously did. Now, no photos/videos are importing. I have a late 2009 iMac Running 10.7.5.
