Q: When I try to turn on iCloud Photo Library my device says that 53 of my photos or videos will be deleted?

I finally can relax and buy the larger iCloud storage plan. But, turning on iCloud photo library, my device says that some of my photos are going to be deleted because they are synced with iTunes. Why are they being deleted and how can I know which photos they are? I have made my onw iTunes albums and given them cover artwork. is this what it is referring to? will I have to redo my homemade iTunes albums?

I've been in the storage space crunch since 2013, what if these are my important family photos?

iPhone 5, iOS 9.2, PC Backup of photos and videos

The photos that will be deleted are the ones that were placed onto your phone by using iTunes to synch them from a computer. If I remember correctly they will be marked in the albums section of Photos on your phone as "From my computer" or "From my Mac."

You can copy those photos directly from your computer to iCloud Photos and then they will automatically sync back to your phone via iCloud. That is from the instructions below from Get help with your iCloud Photo Library - Apple Support

That assumes that you still have the originals on your computer.

You can upload JPEG photos using the Photos app on iCloud.com:

    1. Sign in to iCloud.com with the same Apple ID you use for iCloud Photo Library.
    2. Click iCloud Photo Library.
    3. Click Upload.
    4. Select the photos you want to upload.
    5. Click OK.
