Q: Notes freezing on iCloud.com

Hello,

 

Notes is freezing on iCloud.com for me. Details of the error message are contained below. This problem has been occurring for around 2 months. Any assistance would be appreciated.

    I understand that Notes sporadically stops responding when you use it on the iCloud website and know how frustrating situations like this can be. To begin troubleshooting, I would suggest reading over and working through the suggested steps in the following article.

    No luck. I have tried these ideas and I have tried accessing iCloud Notes from my personal MacBook and my work PC. I have tried different browsers including Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Internet Explorer. Other parts of iCloud work fine including Calendar, Reminders etc. I have cleared my cookies and browsing history on both computers. I am wondering if the problem is caused by a photograph I have embedded in one Note (using the new features introduced in El Capitan).

    Recently encountered this problem when opening Notes from the main iCloud  screen on my macbook air for about a week.  Notes tried to load and eventually reported "APPLICATION NAME   notes2    TYPE   exception"  I have worked with Apple Help and the matter; it  wasn't resolved so I now have an appointment to bring my MacBook to the nearest Apple store, a two and a half hour drive.

     

    Notes on iPhone 6 and iPad are operating normally.  Today I logged into MacBook calendar in iCloud and then moved to notes from calendar.  Notes opened and contains current updates from my iPhone 6 and iPad. Within minutes Notes stopped responding and the original error message  "APPLICATION NAME   notes2    TYPE   exception"  appeared again.  Does the temporary reappearance on MacBook of my current (on other devices) Notes -- only to relapse into the original error message -- add any new clues to the nature of the underlying problem?

    I'm guessing this problem is related to the El Capitan upgrade. Notes works fine on my iPhone and through the Notes app on my MacBook but no longer through iCloud on a Mac or PC. Unfortunately, I use a PC at work and without Notes working through iCloud it is frustrating. For now, I'll switch to Evernote and check back on this issue every few weeks to see if Notes is working correctly again.

    Hello,

     

    I have the same issue. For me this is a big deal, because at work i must use Windows PC, and thus need Notes to be accessible in a browser.

     

    Notes works very well on iOS, and in the app on Mac. In browsers, I get the same FREEZE experience. It does work in Safari on my Mac though.

     

    Always FREEZE - never work here:

    Mac OS - Opera

    Mac OS - Firefox

    Mac OS - Chrome

    Windows 10 - Opera

    Windows 10 - IE 11

    Windows 8 - Opera

    Windows 8 - Firefox

    Windows 8 - IE 11

     

    Had around 600 notes - images in half of these. Moved all notes away from iCloud, so zero notes there. Still exactly the same experience, so it has nothing to do with the amount of notes.

     

    Guess I have to stick to Evernote (or OneNote) until this is fixed....

    I also have same issue after login on icloud account to Mac (10.11.4 EI Capitan).

    Now Notes cannot sync between Iphone and iCoud.com

    and Notes app was changed to https://www.icloud.com/#notes2 on iCould.com

    How can I change back to old address https://www.icloud.com/#notes ?
