Feb 23, 2016 9:31 AM in response to magicmageby itozcaj,Having exact same problem; iOS 9.2 iPhone 6+.. Siri can get weather fine and dictates my speech just fine, but cannot make calls, set timers or the like. She'll say "Making facetime call to Cristie" and them about 15 seconds later say "Uhoh, I can't do that right now, please try again later." I have other iOS devices here on different versions and they can use Siri just fine. Ive tried on and off wifi, with the same results. Rebooting doesnt even help. The only thing that resolves it for a little while is if I choose "Reset Network Settings" in General->Reset. But the issue crops up again sooner than later. One theory I have is it seemed to happen after Xmas time about the same time I had a Bluetooth enabled radio installed in my car. I will disable bluetooth and see if I can repeat the issue.
Definitely a pain in the arse.

She'll say "Making call to XXXXX" and them a few seconds later say "Uhoh, I can't do that right now, please try again later." I have iPad Air with iOS 9.2.1 and it uses Siri just fine. Ive tried on and off wifi, with the same results. Rebooting doesn't even help. Same behavior in Spanish.

Mar 3, 2016 9:28 PM in response to magicmageby fidel.lopez,I'm having these problems too.. Also Siri can't play any music. Using iPhone 6 on 9.2.1.. Cheers from Mexico!

Mar 4, 2016 12:16 AM in response to fidel.lopezby killhippie,Same here, a full reset worked until I turned the phone off, I think we need to wait for 9.3 for this to be fixed, it seems like Siri wont work with settings that use your data like calling etc, its most odd but will give me the weather, tell me where I am but not where my home, is, it wont make calls or texts or play music as well. Very odd.

Mar 5, 2016 12:42 PM in response to jeffd55by johnnymac95,Just got the 6s 3 days ago. Barely even used Siri and the first request was denied. I simply asked to play music in several different way. I am subscribed to apple music as well. My old iPhone 5c had no problem playing music, sending messages, setting alarms etc. Why is it that these so claimed better faster and smarter iPhones can't do simple things like playing a song, and much older models can? I think I made a mistake not switching to android. It's an absolute joke lol. Server problem my ***, these are such simple things that any smart phone these days can do. Waste of money in my opinion. Yet Apple keeps claiming to be "improving."

Mar 5, 2016 4:31 PM in response to tomfromlandenbergby utrph77004,I have the same issue. I discovered the root cause. I also have the same problem with Navigation as well. At first I thought it was network congestion, but it is not. It happens to me on WiFi as well. My iPad Pro and Apple Watch both work fine.
Here's the cause:
Siri cannot find the Maps app or the Clock app. S/he thinks it isn't installed. I discovered this by asking Siri to simply "Launch Maps" and "Launch Clock." Both times, I received the same response.
"It doesn't look like you have an app named '_____'. If you'd like, I can help you look for it on the App Store." The blank is for both 'Maps' and 'Clock.'
I am waiting for iOS 9.3 to release, and then I'm going to do a complete wipe of my iPhone, and then do a "Install as New..." Once I confirm that it works (hopefully) again, I will restore from backup.
If that doesn't work, I'll be off to the Apple Store, I suppose.

Mar 7, 2016 6:24 AM in response to utrph77004by O.P.,+1 same situation here, Siri refuses to work when he/she is asked to do a task related to my data (contacts, events, music...)

Mar 8, 2016 9:01 AM in response to magicmageby Dpixtion,Having same issue..
Me: (holding home button, or earbuds button for siri to start) "Beep-beep" - "Play all music,... shuffled..."
Siri: " I'm sorry i cant do that right now..."
Me: Call "Tom Hanks" (or a contact I call every day)
Siri: I'm sorry I can not place the call please try again later ..." etc...
Now; If I am asking Siri to do something like access the internet, I might understand.. But asking Siri to do something that is within my iPhone, I don't get it.. playing music, or calling someone whom is within my contacts.. it's frustrating.
Suggested: Apple, could you please place a pause in Siri after she responds to us (5 seconds or so..) and leave her 'listening' Example:
Me: "Siri whats the weather today?"
Siri: It will be cold with temperatures at 53 degrees and a high of 58 degrees..."
** Siri should pause here for a follow up question Without me needing to say "hey Siri" or touching the Home button again..
After Siri's reply to first question...
Me: "Is it going to rain..?"
Siri: "Yes, looks like it's going to rain you'll need an umbrella.." ETC....... allow for follow up questions.

Mar 9, 2016 7:12 AM in response to magicmageby kayafromhuntingdon,I spoke to Apple Support they have never heard of this problem. I was asked to do a reboot and set up as new.
The guy on the phone was very good and asked others but none of them have heard of this issue.
He did a agree it was a fault that was probably a software fault effecting a small numbers of users
So everyone need to report this issue via apple support and there feed back links and maybe it will prompt a fix.
-
Mar 9, 2016 2:45 PM in response to kayafromhuntingdonby O.P.,I also reported it to support level 2 with a link to all thread related to this issue :
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/748296
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7486202
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7385949
I'm not very confident that Apple is going to fix it quickly. Some users are complaining about this issue since months... The support person told me she escalated the issue to engineering. Last time I did this I never heard again of my issue. We will see.

Mar 12, 2016 2:56 AM in response to magicmageby MacUser174,★HelpfulI’ve been having the same issues with Siri for the last few weeks… but fixed it today! I’d be curious to see if what’s worked for me will work for other readers of this site.
To confirm, the issues I’ve had were that Siri would respond to internet-related queries just fine, but fall over when asked to do anything local (phone or text someone, open an app, set a timer, etc.). Restarting the phone solves things, but only for about five minutes or a couple of Siri commands, after which it would revert to, “there’s been a problem, please try again”. iOS 9.3 is probably only a week or so away now, and several people on this site claimed that upgrading to the beta worked for them. Others said that wiping the iPhone and restoring as new to iOS 9.2.1 (and later restoring from backup) also works. Since leaving the beta programme also requires a wipe I had a choice of waiting for the official 9.3 release (which may or may not solve things) or wiping the phone (either back to iOS 9.2.1, or to the official iOS 9.3 release when leaving the beta programme). I decided to wipe and restore as new to iOS 9.2.1. What’s interesting is that the problem seems to have been fixed during my preparation to wipe, and I never actually had to go as far as doing the wipe & restore itself.
In preparation for the wipe I did three things…
- Turn off ‘Find My iPhone’. You have to do this as part of the restore process anyway, I just pre-empted it.
- Turn off ‘iCloud Backup’. iCould backup works well, but if you know you’re doing a restore, then a local iTunes backup works faster.
- Sign-out of my ‘iTunes & App Store’ account (not iCloud account). This wasn’t a necessary step for the restore, but I had a large cache of Apple Music and signing out of the store account clears this in one step, and I wanted to ensure that my previously downloaded albums were not restored when I restored from backup later. I happen to have a different account for iTunes & App Store than I do for iCloud (Mail, Notes, Backup, etc.)… is that something we all have in common who have this issue?
When I had done these three things I restarted the phone, intending to then start the Restore process going. Before pressing the button to begin the wipe & restore I tried one more time with Siri. Sure enough it worked flawlessly, but as we all know with this issue it always does for the first five minutes after a restart. Then I tried again after ten minutes, then thirty, then after two hours. In all cases Siri worked without issue! My thinking then is that one of my three preparation steps (turning off iPhone finding, iCloud Backup, signing out of store) fixed this issue.
For those reading this having this issue, I’d recommend you trying these three things (preferably one at a time to see which one actually makes the difference!) to see if it also fixes the issue for you. Whether it does or not, please feedback. I’ve since turned Find iPhone and iCloud Backup back on, and signed in again to my iTunes store account. It’s still working but will update here if things go wrong again!

Mar 12, 2016 6:08 PM in response to MacUser174by ericafromblaine,This worked for me, too, but I had to restart after step #3. After that it worked! BUT then I signed back into the iTunes & App Store and it immediately broke it again.
