Jan 7, 2016 5:27 AM in response to Kzootieby Jonathan UK,Hi
To credit progress towards your daily Exercise goal, the Activity app aims to identify activity that equals or exceeds the intensity of a brisk walk.
When you are not using the Workout app, the Activity app relies on your arm motion (measured by the built-in accelerometer) to track movement for this purpose, so allow the arm on which you are wearing your watch to swing naturally as you walk (or run).
Exercise results are also based on your personal information. To check that this is accurate (and to update it over time):
- On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch tab > Health > Edit - tap and adjust items, then tap on Done.
You may also wish to calibrate your watch, which will help to improve the accuracy of various estimations (including Exercise credit) made by the Activity app and Workout app. More information and instructions for how to calibrate your watch are available via the link below.

Jan 7, 2016 5:39 AM in response to Kzootieby léonie,Start an "Other" workout on the watch, when doing your house keeping work. It will credit the whole duration of this other workout as exercise.
See this page: https://help.apple.com/watch/#/apd36e57e00c
One minute of exercise after doing so much house work is very low. Have set up your watch with your personal data - weight, age, as described here: Keep your data accurate https://help.apple.com/watch/#/apd7d17e9500 ?
And calibrate the watch during an outdoor workout, while taking the iPhone along.

And calibrate the watch ..
As previously advised.

Jan 7, 2016 5:55 AM in response to Kzootieby Kzootie,Thank you both for your quick response. I had put my personal information in and thought that was enough. I had not calibrated the watch so I will do that. Thanks again for your help!

Jan 7, 2016 6:03 AM in response to Kzootieby léonie,You're welcome, Kzootie
Give the "Other" workout a try. This way you will get a record in the Health.app on your iPhone, how much time you are investing into your domestic activities.

Under reverse circumstances (as occurred earlier today), I find that Edit is ideal for rectifying a faux pas

Jan 7, 2016 6:35 AM in response to Jonathan UKby léonie,When I carelessly duplicate a reply that already has been posted, I will edit my post, yes. But not, if the flaky JIVE forum software is randomly hiding the most recent replies and making us think that a question has not been answered, just because the servers are not in sync and updating quickly enough. This buggy behavior is so wasteful. In that case, with the forum software acting up like now for several days, I will let nearly identical answers stand, so the community hosts can see how often it happens.

Jan 7, 2016 6:50 AM in response to léonieby Jonathan UK,I agree that server issues can be frustrating. However, a better solution under such circumstances would be to edit out duplicate content and advise the Communities staff of server issues via the via Lounge > Full Host Bar (advising of sluggish servers is among the examples of reasons for posting there).
Leaving duplicate posts in place sends the wrong message to others. Rather than appreciating the circumstances and your rationale, readers will instead consider that it is appropriate to follow your lead (as a longstanding and experienced member of ASC) in duplicating others' replies as they participate within the Communities.
