address book 6.1.3 can't delete contact

Help please, I can't delete any contacts or groups in address book 6.1.3. I also cannot move a contact into a group. I exported all my contacts from an older 9.4 Mac Book Pro to a 10.7.5 OS Mini Mac. If there is no fix for this is there an alternative address book.
