Q: Is it possible someone hacked into my macbook pro's admin account remotely??

Here's my story.

I just sold my 2013 Macbook pro on craigslist. I bought the computer new. The seller contacted me asking for the admin password for "Dan L*********.: That's not my name but the name of a guy who had previously contacted my via email through Craigslist about the computer but ended up bailing out without ever seeing the computer.

I am a bit creeped out and perplexed as to how his name ended up as the admin in my computer. I had recently erased the macbook's HD and reinstall a fresh copy of Mavericks (the computer wouldn't let me upgrade to El Capitan without entering my Apple ID, which I didn't want to do). I can't remember if I did that before or after this Dan guy emailed me about the computer (most likely after), but I don't remember even setting up the admin account, let alone entering the name of a total stranger as the admin.

Is it possible that he hacked remotely into the computer and changed the admin account to his name? The buyer reinstalled Mavericks but that didn't remove Dan L name from the admin account. I advised him to erase the HD and do another fresh install of the OS through Disk Utility...

Any input is appreciated.
