Spectrum TV App for Apple TV

So I've found a work around. Granted standard airplay from a MacBook, iPad, iPhone does not work, but if you swipe up to get the control center up and select airplay mirroring from an iPod touch, iPad, or iPhone it works beautifully with the spectrum app on IOS. I'm doing it right now!! Note that you will not be able to access the control center once IOS 11 is out by swiping up. It will be different because of the lack of homebutton turns swipe up into unlock.

I got Direct TV go and it has most all the Channels I want to watch, works on iPhone apple TV etc etc, Cut my Cable down to Nothing but Internet, Now I have an App that works on apple TV. If you want to download specific network's you can Login to them via Direct TV GO and the TV app will track your watched Data.

When you call charter / Spectrum and they put you to retention department and ask why your canceling state they have no app for apple TV so I went with a provider that Does.

No, I believe spectrum has an exclusive deal with Rouku. So we won't be seeing the spectrum app on the Apple TV for a while. Which *****. With the amount that I pay month to month with spectrum I'd expect to have all the latest apps and gear on board. This is a disappointment. And I would definitely think about switching to like Sling, YouTube Tv, or even DirectNow. I'm just waiting for the channels I need to be added. Which will be coming soon. Spectrum step your game up! I have an idea. It's untested for this particular app so far but I know it works for other apps. I had the same situation as one of the earlier responses said. You can play app on device but not allowed to air play.

The work around is if you purchase a Lighting Digital AV Adapter (see link below) you plug this into your ipad or iphone then connect the HDMI to your TV then play the Spectrum app. Like I say it worked with other apps but I haven't done it with this app.

I have apple tv4 and you can always do airplay from your apple device or macbook. I have one of the newer samsung smart tv set and it has the spectrum app. They just put that app out there for samsung smart tv.

Actually joshua 028, I just tried using the SpectrumTV app on my IPad and when I tried to air play onto my Apple TV it said that Spectrum does not allow screen casting. Spectrum also not available for the ABC app as well. Agree, Charter Spectrum *****.

Good luck with getting this. I had Charter a few years ago and they don't even support HBOGO on APTV if you have HBO from them. Fortunately now, you can cancel HBO from them and just get HBONow. I reached out to them on Twitter and complained but they just said they'd put in my request. That was at least 4 years ago. Since they still don't support it, they aren't interested in such things.

I FINALLY figured out how to do this. 🙂 No, there is no Spectrum TV app on the App Store for Apple TV. 😠 And there will never be, if they can help it. 😢 Just like there will not be an Amazon prime video on the App Store for Apple TV. Also, you cannot use AirPlay to play the Spectrum TV app on your TV. It won't let you. 😠😠 However, what you can do is go to

to stream it on your laptop, and then mirror the display on your Apple TV. 😀 😍

Then why did Time Warner Cable do it with Roku? You could even get cable without renting their cable box. How is it competition when you still have to pay the cable company? You are just using a different box that's all. TWC even encouraged it.

You are wrong on two accounts, and third account probably as well since there is news of cable waiting for next TVOS. Amazon Prime is coming to Apple TV as told in their recent WWDC, and you can use airport to stream Spectrum Cable app. I have done it on iOS devices, and MacOS.

I’m in the same boat. I have the iPhone app but would really like to have the Spectrum app on the ATV. Somehow I don’t think Charter will be doing this. They probably see the ATV as competition.

It is indeed disappointing. With the new TvOS the whole experience ***** if you are stuck with charter.

I hate monopolies. Lack of real competition limits consumer choice in ways like this.

I know this is a user community, but if Apple is checking, please work on getting additional providers including Charter Spectrum on board.

I tried that and it didn't work. It said the same thing as trying with an Apple TV, that it wasn't allowed.
