Sync Outlook 2015 calendar with iCloud on OS X El Capitan

Hi,

I am a new Mac user, but an IT professional with years of experience in other OS's.

My Macbook runs El Capitan. I have recently installed Microsoft office 2015. My goal is to use the Calendar feature in Outlook.

My existing calendar is on iCloud. I can log into iCloud from any browser and look at my calendar. No issues. I can open Calendar on my Mac and see all my appointments, no issues.

However, when I try to sync Outlook with iCloud the Outlook calendar remains empty.

I have tried setting up the iCloud account information in Outlook automatically and manually. In both cases I get the green 'dot', i.e. it authenticates my credentials. No errors. But no calendar events either.

Thanks in advance

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.2)

I believe you are out of luck in this regard. I wanted to use my iCloud contacts when typing emails in Outlook 2016 and can't do that either.

Outlook 2016 for Mac currently doesn't support the CalDAV or CardDAV internet standards. This means that it's not possible to synchronize your iCloud Calendar or contacts with Outlook 2016 for Mac.
