Jan 17, 2016 10:54 PM in response to Mast3rT0mby DebHHHHH,The same thing just happened to me except I haven't changed my Apple ID. My phone started alerting at 12:15 am and the only other device on my iCloud/wifi network was lying underneath it unused. Woke me up, weirded me out a bit as I am alone and clearly didn't do it. Got the confirming email so sure I didn't dream it.
Can anyone explain?

Jan 17, 2016 11:09 PM in response to Mast3rT0mby stevejobsfan0123,For piece of mind, try enabling two-step verification. Frequently asked questions about two-step verification for Apple ID - Apple Support
If the device was completely powered down, it's impossible for someone to remotely submit a Find my iPhone alert request, as the iPad is not connected to the Internet to receive the request and there's no way around that. It is possible, however, that there is some technical glitch which caused the device to restart and play the sound. In that case, I would suggest telling Apple support about your experience: http://apple.com/feedback.
