Where can I get an eGPU for my macbook pro ?

An eGPU is an external thunderbolt graphics card. I am wishing to try and invest in getting a eGPU with a GPU, to enhance the graphics of my macbook pro, when doing my 3D stuff. The Intel Iris has some minor issues , and do have to require work arounds to prevent my scenes from crashing in display before rendering, and somehow Nvidia is the best thing for this. I only wish Apple did not abandon the Nvidia graphics chipsets in all its Macbook Pro range when I was buying mine. I live in the UK and wish to know where I can get this in the UK, because when searching on google I have discovered the BizonBox 2( External Graphics card for Mac)

where you can I get the chassis with a graphics card to get started...?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

The case is an AKiTiO Thunder2. You will also need a propper PSU (e.g. the Dell DA-2 220W for cards up to a GTX970) and a rather small card.

Best cards are GXT960 or 970s since they are small. A small 970 that fits are:

- KFA2 GTX970 Gamer OC

- Galax GTX970 Gamer OC

- Zotac GTX970 (the short one)

You can also use long cards, but you will not be able to close the case anymore. If you want to close the case with that short GPUs you will also need to make modifications to the case for cooling and use small form factor 6-Pin PCIe power plugs (90° bend).

Hi,
