Apple Watch sound too loud after Alarm or Timer

Hello everyone,

I've noticed something very weird about the Apple Watch, anytime I set a Timer or an Alarm Clock, when it rings to wake me up or to tell me the timer is finish. It makes the sound on Apple Watch very loud after that. For instance when you receive notifications, send messages, etc it's like the volume is twice as loud as before...

The only workaround I've found is to restart the watch or to go to settings, lower the volume all the way, then I put the volume back to full. It seems that the ring from Alarm or Timer change the volume of the watch.

Hi

If you have not yet done so, it may help to update your iPhone and Apple Watch to the latest software versions (presently iOS 9.2 and watchOS 2.1). To update your watch from a software version prior to watchOS 2, your iPhone needs to be running iOS 9 or later. Instructions for updating the software are available here:

- Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

- Update the software on your Apple Watch - Apple Support

Otherwise, it may help to unpair and re-pair your watch. The Watch app on your iPhone takes watch backups automatically, including a fresh one when unpairing via the app. Choose to restore the watch (Restore from Backup) when offered the option during set up. Most data and settings will be restored, with some exceptions (eg Apple Pay cards, passcode).

- Unpair your Apple Watch and iPhone - Apple Support

- Set up your Apple Watch - Apple Support

What I did:

- Restoration of the iPhone (set as new) with the latest iOS

- Restoration of the Apple Watch (without transferring old backup) with the latest WatchOS

- Pairing iPhone/Apple Watch

- Testing without any app or settings change.

As I mentioned it came with WatchOS 2, the 2.1 didn't change anything.

To reproduce this issue, set a Timer for 30sec, let it ring, then stop. Now anytime you'll receive a notification it will be twice as loud as before. Or when you send a message, the "swoop" sound is way too loud. Try it and tell me.

Hello FA-RO

I've found something to solve this issue.

On your Apple Watch go to settings, sounds, set it to max, then type one time to lower it.

You won't notice any difference but this weird loudy sound will be gone after a timer or alarm clock.

Let me know 😉
