use file, revert to option and then choose a version that preceded this update.

the bigger issue is why this happened. the only thing i can think of is that perhaps you exceeded the file size limit or some other specification. however, you did not mention the error message, nor the version of the ib author you are using, the size of the file. by the way, you have a nice view from your back yard.

thank you for answering.

First, where can I find a option to choose a version before? I have no idea.

Second, here is the error description:

go to file menu option. click on it and you option a drop down menu. one of the items in the menu is revert to ...

click on browse all versions on sub menu,

up pops previous versions of this file that were automatically saved by apple. choose the latest one before this problem happened..

the diagnostics mean little to me. sorry. you likely would need to go to apple support with it. but i am still interested in the size (mb) of the jpg.

sometimes i just gotta be wacked in the head with a 2 by 4. of course. i'm going to plead senior moment instead of just plain stupid.

well, i take it you don't use Time Machine. i don't either, but i should. i take it you didn't do your own backup. i do but certainly not often enough.

it sound like you might have a corrupted file and must recreate your book. hopefully this will not be too painful for you, but i guess that all depends on how far you got and what can be salvaged. if you haven't done so, i would recommend you reboot your computer, but first pray that some part of your memory is corrupted and causing this problem which could go away with a reboot. after a reboot, if it persists, then i gotta think that it is a corrupted file somehow.

you might also consider calling apple support. the automatic backup has got t5o be there somewhere. it might not be in a format which is useful unless you can open the file. but maybe apple can salvage the situation for you.

sorry for your bad luck.
