i am sharing my location indefinitely with a contact on my phone through the iMessage app and i want to know if i turn my phone off or if it dies will my phone still share my location? Will the other person still be able to see where i am?

If your phone is turned off or dies, it has all the value of a brick.

No. I would assume in order for this to work your phone needs to be connected to cellular data or wifi to share location.
when sharing location indefinitely will my phone still share my location when my phone is off?
