WD 4TB - Issues - Possible Bad Sectors?

I recently got rid of my NAS where this drive was running. -- WD40EZRX Western Digital 4TB. However, transfers to and from are super slow. I have tried two enclosures which support this drive, an both have the same issue. One is SATA - USB2, and the other is SATA to USB3 (newer).

Prior to this findings, I did a complete erase and re-partition, so it should be OK. That said, I may be needing to 0 out the disk, but the dd command will take a good 24+ hours on a drive this size.

Any thoughts?

Pulled up TestDisk, and ran a sanity check.

Something to do to at least verify read/write speeds, download Blackmagic Disk Speed Test

from the MacApp Store (it's free).

Be sure to use the USB3 interface. HDD transfer speeds are much slower than USB3

so you won't have the interface limiting (USB2 would be slower pretty much any HDD).

Speeds are likely to be in the neighborhood of 80-120 megabytes/second for an HDD.

Let the test run for awhile. It will stress the driver pretty well and could show up any

issues.
