Q: Won't let me use my iTunes card I purchased via email to set up my account in the app store

I Purchased a $25 itunes card as I was having problems using the 'none' payment type. Every time I enter the code it says payment type invalid but when I check my balance with the same code it says there is still $25 remaining. I only want to download a free app in the store and I spent maybe 5hours and set up about 15 iTunes account so far, any help would be very much appreciated!

    Greetings Tomhughes123456,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

I understand that you have a $25 gift code for the iTunes Store that you are having a hard time redeeming. From your post, it sounds like you have created a lot of different Apple IDs trying to redeem this card, but when you try to add the code you receive a message that the payment type is invalid.

To begin troubleshooting, I would first suggest not creating any more Apple IDs. We will try to help you figure out why you are unable to redeem this code on your main Apple ID. To begin the process, please read over the following article for information on how this process is supposed to work.

Also, verify that the $25 hasn’t already been added to any of the Apple IDs you have created to try and add this store credit.

You mention in your post that when you check your balance with the same code, you see the $25 remaining. How are you checking this balance?

    Have a great day!
