Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!
From your question, it sounds like your iPad may be on, but you are not seeing anything on the display. We know that situations like this are frustrating, but we are here to help! If this is correct, I would suggest continuing to troubleshoot by completing the suggested steps in the following article.
If you see a solid color screen (black, white, or blue)
- Plug in your device to a power source. If you see the low-battery screen when you plug in, let your device charge for at least 10 minutes (20 minutes for iPad) before using it.
- Force restart your device while it's plugged in.
- If this doesn't work, restore your device.
- If you still see the issue after you restore, contact Apple Support.

i've already done the factory reset but the screen is still black. But in iTunes it clearly shows the iPad is attached and powered on.

Thanks for replying with this information. At this point, it does sound like there may be an issue with the iPhone. I suggest having your iPhone evaluated by an Apple Retail Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have a technician examine your device. Or contact Apple Support.
