    I work out for about 1.5 hours a day. 1 hour of this is cardio while the 30 minutes is more weightlifting. After my workout today my calorie counter had only changed 50 calories from when I walked into the gym & it the exercise part had only went to 3 minutes. I have not really tried to fix it in anyway. I'm not really sure how to do so.

    On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > Privacy > Motion & Fitness - check that Heart Rate and Fitness Tracking are both enabled.

    To help improve the accuracy of calorie estimations, check that your personal information is accurate:

    - On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > Health > check and, if necessary, edit your birthdate, gender, height and weight.

    Calibrating Apple Watch can also help to improve the accuracy of Activity and Workout estimations:

    - Calibrating your Apple Watch for improved Workout and Activity accuracy - Apple Support

    Check also that you are wearing your watch snugly against the top of you wrist when exercising. For the best results from the heart rate sensor and related estimations, Apple suggests that you consider tightening your watch band before workouts and loosening it again afterwards.

    When exercising, you may wish to use the Workout app to record workouts. For each workout, choose the activity type that most closely matches the exercise you will be doing. You may wish to record your cardio activity (eg "Indoor Run") separately from your weightlifting (choose "Other" for your weights workout).

    I've had the same the same issue today, usually works fine. Just done 45 minutes on a bike burning around 400 calories, watch says 9 minutes and 167 calories! Very frustrating.

    In case of any software issue, it may also help (and certainly will not hurt) to restart both your iPhone and your watch. Turn both devices off together first, then restart your iPhone before restarting your watch:

    - To turn your watch off: press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag it to turn off;

    - To turn it on: press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

    image.jpegHi Jonathon

    I've followed your suggestions above and still have the problem! Below I've added pictures but basically the heath app has recognised high heart rate during the exercise but doesn't seem to have told the activity app.

    On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > Workout - check that Power Saving Mode is not turned on.

    To credit progress towards your daily Exercise goal, the Activity app aims to identify activity that equals or exceeds the intensity of a brisk walk. This includes using data from your arm motion (measured by the built-in accelerometer), so it may help to allow the arm on which you are wearing your watch to swing naturally as you walk (or run).

    A workaround is to record workouts via the Workout app using "Other" as the activity type. You will then be credited with one minute of progress in the Exercise ring for every minute of the workout, regardless of other data.
