MIDI interface, Roland Duo Capture Ex, stopped working after upgrade to ios 9.2. It had been working perfectly under ios 8

HI, I use iPad 4.

Under iOS 8 I had been using a Roland Duo Capture MIDI interface via lightning to USB camera connection cable.

This worked perfectly. Then last week I upgraded to iOS 9.2.

Now it does not work at all. A message appears saying UA-22 is not supported.

I am supposed to teach lessons on Monday using this set up, can anyone help please?

To everyone,

I checked the Roland Knowledge base.

Are all of you using this interface with either batteries or supplied power adapter?

The interface won't work properly with iPad unless you have batteries installed or you are using this with a Roland branded power adapter.

Check Roland's knowledgebase articles for any other pertinent or needed info to get this interface working on your iPad, again.

Roland website only lists compatibility up to iOS 7 and through to the 1st gen iPad Air models.

No mention of compatibility with iOS 8, 9 OR 10 or newer iPads.

Good thought. I followed your excellent lead which eventually got me to here https://www.roland.com/global/support/support_news/2873/

So latest position seems to be that they claim iOS 9 support, but nothing about iOS 10 and no related news since Sept 2015. Looks like it is not a safe bet, which is a shame because it's cheaper than the IK iRig Duo Pro, and the feature set and pre-amp quality looks as good or better.

Just sent this to rca.support@roland.com (Roland support Australia - even finding a contact for support Enquiries is depressingly difficult!). Will post back if anything useful comes of it...

Hi

I spent yesterday morning getting quite excited about the prospect of a new Roland Capture Duo EX audio interface for my iPad. Before placing the order I did a final check in the Apple support forums for any known problems and that's when it all went to ****.

This thread tells the story: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7414699?answerId=31229322022#31229322022

So before I give up on Roland, have Roland really given up on iOS?

Disappointing if true, but iOS 10 was released nearly 4 months ago, and there seems to be no info on compatibility of your products.

Please let me know if you can provide any reassurances around ongoing Roland support for iOS devices, otherwise I'm back to the drawing board...

Regards

Chris

Hello. I am having same problem. I also have the same set up: ipad 4 with Roland Duo Capture EX connected via camera connection cable. Just did last software update on ipad (9.2.1) and same message appears on my ipad's screen: UA-22 the connected device is not supported. Just started looking for a solution, but i think it still fresh to be fixed by apple. APPLE WE NEED A FIX FOR THAT!!!!!!!
