Pages Icloud drive

just tried to open a 'pages' file on my MacBook. The file is on icloud drive. The error message is "xml index file missing". I wrote the document in MS Word on my Macbook and then uploaded to Pages on Icloud drive....the file was converted to pages so I could read it on my Ipad and Iphone, But now I cant open it on my MacBook.
