I'm not sure how long they normally last -- my mid 2012 Air is at 352 cycles and is still doing well -- but note that the link gives 1000 cycles as the maximum cycle count and the link at http://www.apple.com/batteries/service-and-recycling/ has different wording but includes the words "up to."
Your battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 1000 complete charge cycles. The one-year warranty includes replacement coverage for a defective battery. Apple offers a battery replacement service for all MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro notebooks with built-in batteries.
It won't hurt to ask but it is 3 years old and the warranty is for 1 year. If you do have to pay for it, it looks like it would be $129 in the U.S. Apple - Support - Service Answer Center
