Hopefully someone has an answer to this - I've tried searching, asking, and calling Apple support but no luck yet.
I'm currently managing some family members' apple devices. When they were initially configured, a @yahoo.com email address was used. As such, their current Apple ID is xyz@yahoo.com. I would like to change their Apple ID to a @icloud.com email address. When I log into icloud and try to manage Apple ID, there is no option to create a new Apple ID, and when I try to just change the email to an @icloud.com email address (thinking maybe the system would understand what I wanted to do) I receive an error saying that I'm not allowed to change to an @icloud.com email address.
I understand there is no way to merge separate Apple IDs, so I don't want to just create a new one. I have settings, photos and such that I want to preserve.
Any help greatly appreciated!
