HELP: tried to restore iPhone 6, now it is stuck in recovery mode and iTunes will not recognise it

I tried to restore my iPhone 6 this morning. The restore failed with an error of 4005. Since then, my iPhone has been stuck on recovery mode and iTunes will not read it, whether I hard reset it or set it to DFU mode. I've managed to get iTunes to read it once before, but after trying to restore again, iTunes gets stuck on "waiting for iPhone" before the error of 4005 crops up again.

I've been redoing everything over and over again and I still can't figure out what's wrong. I've restarted my computer, changed the cord and the USB port used. I've even downloaded iTunes on another computer, to no avail. Can anyone help?

The iPhone is on the latest OS, so is iTunes.

iPhone 6, iOS 9.2

Hey ripsofftricks,
I understand that you having issues with restoring your iPhone and getting error 4005. Let's see if we can get this working for you.
I would make sure that everything is up to date on your end. This would include your version of iTunes and your computer. If that does not work, try a different cable and if you have access yo another computer, try that. If that does not work, then you will want to contact Apple Support. Take a look at the article below.
If you see error 9, 4005, 4013, or 4014 when you restore your iOS device
