Is it possible to customize a route in "Maps", like you can do in Google Maps? How would one do that? Pin drops?

Short of making a bunch of favorites, then navigating each one in sequence, there is no way to customize a route. It may offer a few options for the route, but that is all the customization possible.
I was afraid of that. Thanks for the information. Kind of frustrating that you can do that in Google Maps but not Apple Maps. At least I can send the route to my phone with Apple Maps without a link or URL. The frustration expressed on the Google discussion is much greater, especially since it was easy with the "classic" google maps, but not any more!
