I have a new macbook pro with os yosemite and I thought I was given an email address @me.com but nothing comes to that address

Q: why does my @me.com email address not work?
New MBP's get an @icloud address, me addresses are much older.
dot-me is simply an alias of a dot-iCloud address. Try sending a message to yourself using both. Some ISPs have been known to reject two-letter domains.
