My iPhone 6 hasn't backed up a few months. It was supposed to do it automatically. I paid for the storage.
I saw a suggestion that said to delete my old backup from my phone. If I go that route to reset it, will everything in my cloud be gone and then just save my new content?
If you delete an iCloud backup, the only thing it will delete is the backup. It doesn't affect things you have chosen to sync to iCloud via Settings > iCloud (e.g., contacts, notes) or Photos in your iCloud Photo Library or things that you have saved to iCloud Drive.
