Family sharing - can't quit ?

I need to set a family sharing but I am being told that I cannot use this user name because my wife set it (she possibly did something she did not know but she can't figure it out....)

The thing is, when I search on the topic, Apple states that either on my Mac or on iPhone, I can select to ''quit'' family so I'd be able to set it from scratch. No way it works ! The option t select my name and to ''quit family sharing'' is not there ! I still have a button ''set up Family sharing'' but no place to select ''remove'' - neither on my Mac, nor on my iPhone.

Any idea ?

Mac: OSX 10.10.5

iPhone : iOS 9.2

Hello Rob,
I understand that you want to setup Family Sharing but it seems that you are already in one. Let's see if we can get that sorted out.
The one thing I would question is if you can remove yourself from your wife's account. Take a look at the article below to view the account that she set up. You should be able to have your account removed or just stop Family Sharing all together. Look over the steps and do this from her iPhone or device that she is signed in with.
Leave Family Sharing

Let me know if this helps.
Take care
