What are GB 10.1.0 system requirements?

What are GB 10.1.0 system requirements?

Nowhere on any Apple web pages can I find a clear statement of the minimum and recommended system requirements to run GB 10.1.0 and subsequent revisions.

I have no problems running this software on my Early 2011 2.7 GHz i7 16GB MBP. My collaborator's Mid 2010 2.4 GHz Core Duo with 4GB is struggling. Some of our joint Projects place heavy demands on the CPU and RAM capacity.

My question is, would additional RAM solve the older MBP's problems of slow loading and data handling?

It's looking like your collaborator's Mac doesn't meet the requirements.

I found the GarageBand 10.0 requirements here:

iLife: System requirements - Apple Support

GarageBand 10.0

OS X Mavericks

Mac with Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor

Recommended: 4 GB RAM with i3 processor (or faster)

Note it says "Intel Core 2 Duo" where the Mid 2010 is a "Core Duo".

Even then, an i3 processor or faster is recommended.

That may be it.
