Load samples and play live?

I would like to use Garageband to play sounds through a Bluetooth speaker on my train. Can I load in a bunch of samples and play them back live like a sampling keyboard? Is there some other app that will work better?

In GarageBand iOS you can play one sample at different pitches, but not multiple different samples:

Playing samples was much easier in GarageBand '11 on the Mac and the sound effect instruments.

Thanks, Leonie. Is there any other software that works as a general purpose sampler that can play more than one sample at a time?
