Apple scrubbed the disk on my iMac and re-installed 10.11.2. I have gotten back almost everything from a backup disk but Contacts. (I was told not to 'Restore' from Time Machine). I can't find Contacts. What should I do?
iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.2)
This folder needs to be restored:
~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook
Please open the Library folder in your home folder by holding down the option key and selecting
Go ▹ Library
from the Finder menu bar. Navigate in the usual way to the item indicated.
I can find that in my home folder; the problem is to open the Library folder in the backup disk.
Fortunately, the backup disk is bootable. I just figured out I can run from that, export an Contacts Archive, and then import it running from my iMac disk.

If you use iCloud, then once you sign into iCloud from System Preferences and enable Contacts they should sync to your Mac.
Do you synchronize your contacts with a network service such as iCloud? If so, all you have to do is recreate the account settings.
I am not using iCloud. Any other suggestions?
After what you have said above, then what do you do? How do you restore the folder? Sorry, not tech savvy.
What type of backup do you have? If Time Machine, select the folder and click Restore.
Where are Contacts stored in El Capitan?
