Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities! I'm sorry to hear you are having this issue with iMovie on your Mac. If you don't remember purposely deleting it and there are still files in the Trash folder (indicating that it hasn't recently been emptied), it is more likely that iMovie may have simply been accidentally moved or misplaced. If that is the case, you should be able to locate it using Spotlight search, as outlined in the following articles:
