How can I change the system date by using verbose or single user mode?
My newly installed OSX server (on a Mac Mini) won't boot. I can see in verbose mode that the date is set to Dec 2000, so I figured if I change that it should boot.
Any ideas?
You can't change it via verbose mode, as the name implies it only "says" what the computer is currently doing on the boot.

Also, try to see if you can boot to recovery mode (cmd+r) and change it from there

Thanks. I can't figure out how to use Terminal if the machine isn't booting - I've installed OSX Server and I'm stuck on the Welcome screen.
I treid booting off the install disk and then using Terminal, but it appears to be "read ony" and does nothing for the Start Up Drive.
Hi, did you tried those commands in Single user?
Also, try to boot into recovery mode (do not use install disk) via CMD+R and then access terminal from there

I sterted in Single user mode and used those commands... worked a treat.
