Not sure what you mean search by icloud.

Jan 12, 2016 12:13 PMby gail from maine,Where did you save those old photos? Are you talking about photos that were out there before your last backup? Did you import those or save them somewhere? If not, then they are gone. Backups are not photo archives. They get written over every time you do a new backup....

or use a Cloud Service like DropBox or iCloud Photo Library to house your photos.
