Bootcamp won't create a USB drive for Windows 10, 64 bit

Today I downloaded Windows 10. I've never run Windows on my Macbook Pro (retina, late 2013). When I try to use bootcamp (5.1.2) to install/make the USB drive, I receive this error: "Boot Camp only supports Windows 7 or later installation on this platform. Please use an ISO file for Windows 7 or later installation."

I have been looking all over google for ~5 hours, and have tried everything I can think of. I've redownloaded windows 10, unmounted, tried both USB drives, but I keep getting the same error.

Help?!

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

You have couple of choices. Mavericks (10.9.5) has an older BCA (5.1.2). You need at least 5.1.4.

A. Temporarily use Yosemite or El Capitan. My recommendation is Yosemite.

1. Install Yosemite ( or El Capitan ) on an external disk - How to install OS X on an external drive connected to your Mac - Apple Support and boot from it.

2. Run BCA in Yosemite and create the USB Installer.

3. Shutdown your Mac, and boot from the your internal Mavericks disk. Choose the last option ('Install Windows...') and connect your USB Installer.

4. Install Windows.

B. Download the USB installer from Microsoft (you will need a PC to run the Media creation tool).

C. Install W7/W8.1, and then upgrade to W10. This requires your W7/W8.1 to be fully activated and you get a free W10 Upgrade for 30 days. After 30 days, you will not be able to roll back to W7/W8.
