Q: Is Hey Siri for real?

I set my phone up to respond to Hey Siri, just like the TV ads.  I went thru the entire process.  Yet when I say Hay Siri the phone just sits there, unresponsive.  Any suggestions?  Or is this just another sales idea Apple never took to fruition?

What iPhone do you have? Some iPhones need to be plugged in to a charger for "hey Siri" to work. The 6s and 6s Plus are the only models that support "Hey Siri" without being plugged into a power source.-AJ

Now that is interesting.  I have a 6+.  Maybe Siri can't understand my gravelly voice, despite claims to the contrary.

With a 6+ you will need to be connected to a power source for Hey Siri to work. Have you tried "training" Siri to your voice yet? Use Siri on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Unless you have the 6S or 6S+, the phone has to be plugged into a power source for Hey Siri to work. Mind you, a mophie charing case works just fine.

I charge my phone in a dock on my nightstand. I frequently use Hey Siri to ask the time, the weather, set an alarm and to adjust my Hue lights.
