Importing
I am still waiting for my iPhoto to import my photos from my iPhone. I think this is frozen as anything I do comes up with still waiting!!! I have tried to get out of it even shutting down but still have the same messageI

You mention that you are importing to iPhoto; I would begin troubleshooting by forcing iPhoto to close on your Mac using the instructions in the following article.

After iPhoto has been closed, disconnect your iPhone completely and then open iPhoto fresh and try to import again as outlined in the next article.

While trying the import again, if you experience the same behavior, quit iPhoto again and try to import using Photos or Image Capture as described in the article.
