I understand that you are having an issue with watching content for the Sky Go app. Let's see if we can figure out what is going on.
As with any app that is downloaded from the App Store, start with closing out the app entirely and relaunching it. Then move on to restarting your iPad. I would also make sure that your iPad and the app are up to date. One of the last steps to try is to delete app and then download it again.
