Q: iPad Pro control centre swipe problem.

I can't consistently swipe up the control centre with my new (still within 14 days) iPad Pro. This only happens in portrait mode and only above the home button side (if I rotate it 180degrees it works fine, but then the notification centre won't work from the home button side.

After a hard reset it started to work again, only to stop within minutes. Initially I bought it was only stopping working in certain apps (ProCreate and Safari) but now it seems to stop working everywhere.

Has anyone e;she experienced/fixed this? I would assume it was a hardware problem if it weren't for the fact that a reset can fix it for a while.

You know I'm more convinced it's a software problem. I unlocked my iPad the other day and did my 10 swipe test and it came up all 10 times.

Then today, it broke again.off f

Also, when I swipe to the left to search, I notice the keyboard looks off, like it's pushed down a bit and the space bar is almost missing.

Here's hoping it's just oddness for the new screen res. FIX IT APPLE <3.

I also have this problem. It only happens at the bottom (the side with Home button), swiping other sides is fine without any issue. Hope this issue get fixed soon otherwise it is very annoying.

Another iPad Pro 12.9 here.  It sounds like software related.  Apple marketing, talk to your software department and get this fixed.  Here is another link to continue the complaints.  http://forums.macrumors.com/threads/swipe-from-home-button-edge-of-ipad-pro-12-9 -intermittently-does-not-work.1969197/

I have exactly the same problem: just purchased the Pro last Friday and now I got this same issue. This morning, after charging the swipe was working well in portrait mode but when using Safari in landscape the swipe for split view or the control center started to malfunction again.

It usually works fine if you start to swipe from the home button and you can see that if you draw something on Notes you won't be able to draw on the edge of the home button side while you can on all the other edges.

I'm now trying a restore and if the problem persists I'll visit a Genius next week for a replacement unit.

    Hi

Try a reboot press & hold power button & menu button hold both down until you see apple logo .

This can take 30 seconds .

    Cheers

Already done: the first time I tried the hard reset it worked but just for a while... After that I got the same behavior. I just finished to restore and the condition remained exactly the same. Will visit the Genius for hardware problem.

HI there,  I have a similar problem on my new Ipad Pro, that is, swipes do not work in any orientation. Have tried fixes as suggested by others, including updating IOS to 9.3 to no avail. However, I have found a workaround. Go to Settings/Accessibility/Accessibility Shortcut. In the options shown, activate Assistive Touch. Exit, then give the Home Button 3 presses. This will now bring up a button on the lower right of all screens. Pressing this will bring up a small window with several items in it, one of which brings up the Control Center. I hope this workaround will suffice until there is a proper fix for for this bug.

I Also seem to be having this problem. I do believe it is software. What I noticed that worked for me was while in portrait Swiping up normally, (how we swipe on our phone normally) Never reacted. I tried a slower approach. That didn't work. But Faster swiping 9/10 times it worked. It seems that speed at which it is done, makes a difference. That also goes for landscape multitasking. Hope that helps. Its a temporary solution. Still needs to be fixed.

Same problem here. I also believe this is a software problem. Always the edge next to the home button that is failing. Sometimes locking the device and then swipe up to show control panel and then unlocking it solves the problem. But only sometimes...

    Hi All,

Good News !!! Today i received a replacement ipad pro as my touch id was not working. Fortunately, the new one doesn't have the notification bar and control center swipe issue which i reported earlier in this thread with a video. Software version updated is 9.3.2 and am not sure if they fixed anything in the hardware.

People who still have the swipe issue, please report and get a replacement.

    thanks

I had this with my iPad PRO 12.9 when I wanted to activate the split screen (with home button to the right).

I found out, it happended ONLY when Homebutton to the right and ONLY when when unlocking iPad with

"fingerprint" (Touch ID), with digit code it was ok.

After deleting all stored Touch IDs and setting up a new Touch ID, the problem disppeared.

Just bought my 12.9 pro and same problem. Like mentioned above me, the problem only occurs if I use Touch ID to sign into my iPad. It works fine if I use my pin. I can get it to work sometimes if I swipe incredibly fast when I have the problem after using Touch ID. I tried deleting my old prints and adding new ones but this didn't fix the issue.

NEW: Another thing I just discovered is that this problem doesn't occur if I just tap the home button for Touch ID to log me in rather than keep my finger there until the ipad actually unlocks.
