Airdrop issues

I just cannot get Airdrop to work between my devices.

I have:

2014 Macbook Pro Retina with OSX 10.11.2

iPhone 6S with iOS 9.2

I cannot airdrop from either device to the other. They simply don't show up. I can see and transfer to and from other people's devices, but not my own.

Airdrop visibility is 'everyone' on both devices.

They are both signed into the same icloud account.

I have restarted/turned wifi and bluetooth on and off

Turned personal hotspot on and off

Deleted /Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist on my Mac as instructed in another thread.

I'm baffled.
