Q: Airplay Yamaha RX-A730 receiver not available anymore on iOS devices
Hi All,
Since an update of my wireless network the airplay feature of my yamaha RX-A730 receiver is not available anymore on my iOS devices. It has always been working but since an update of my wireless settings I cannot stream music anymore from my iOS devices to my Yamaha receiver via Airplay.
I did not replace any hardware nor did I had a firmware update (latest version installed).
All devices (iOS and receiver) are connected to my wireless network which comes from my Airport Time Capsule (2,4Ghz and 5Ghz activated). My airport time capsule is connected to my wireless router of which the wireless signal has been turned off. So only my Airport Time Capsule is sending a wifi signal.
It appears not to be a connection or network problem as I can access my Yamaha receiver via the browser of my MacBook. The receiver is connected to the same network as all my other devices. Also I can wirelessly control my receiver on my iPad and iPhone via the Yamaha AV receiver app and I can wirelessly stream my music from all my iOS devices to my receiver via Spotify Connect.
All these features are working great on my receiver but the only thing that does not work is the airplay feature. The airplay feature of my receiver does simply not appear anymore on my iOS devices (which always has been working properly).
Can anyone help out on this issue?
Thanks.
Bjorn

Hello BaronBoris,
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that your Yamaha receiver is no longer being recognized for AirPlay on your iOS devices. I can see as well that you have tried to isolate and troubleshoot already, but the issue continues.
In this situation, I would suggest reading over the If you don't see the device you want to stream to section in the following article. It seems like you have completed these steps already, but working through them will help to ensure that everything is correct.
If you don't see the device you want to stream to
When you tap AirPlay on your iOS device, you should see a list of devices that you can stream content to. If you don't see the device you're looking for, follow these steps. After each step, try again:
- Make sure that the device you want to stream to is plugged in and powered on.
- On your Apple TV, make sure that AirPlay is turned on in Settings > AirPlay.
- On your iOS device, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and check that you're on the same Wi-Fi network as your Apple TV.
- On your Apple TV (4th generation), go to Settings > Network and check that you're on the same Wi-Fi network as your iOS device. For Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation), go to Settings > General > Network. If your Apple TV uses an Ethernet connection, check that the cable is plugged in to the router that you're using for Wi-Fi.
- If you’re using an iPad, scroll up and down in the device list to see all of the available devices.
- If you still need help, contact Apple Support.
