It may help to restart both your iPhone and your watch. Turn both devices off together first, then restart your iPhone before restarting your watch:
- To turn your watch off: press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag it to turn off;
- To turn it on: press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

Jan 13, 2016 8:27 AM in response to ThatBassoonistby Jonathan UK,Although I appreciate that you say you have done so previously, watchOS does not presently support controlling the playback of audiobooks or podcasts from iPhone. It does support playing back music including Beats 1 radio station, tracks from your music library and Quick Play from Apple Music.
