Windows 10 Update to 11099 "Device isn't compatible"
Today, the latest Windows 10 update was released. During my Macbook's attempt to update, this message popped up.
Any ideas anyone?
MacBook, Windows 10
Do you already have a previous version of W10 installed?
Absolutely
You can uninstall the 802.11ac adapter driver, remove the device and try to install the update. What year/model is your Mac?
Its the latest MacBook (usbc).
I've removed and reinstalled the adapter.
I've tried force updating from within the driver.
Can you uninstall the driver, remove the adapter, and without re-installing the adapter, try the W10 update?
Surely is need the network adapter to download the update?
You should be able to download and store the update locally and then disable/delete the adapter/driver.
I Don't believe that's a thing with this update.
If you run Windows Update, if this update is offered, you should have a KB number. This KB number can be downloaded from Microsoft.
I have the same issue. it is impossible to install this version.
this is not a package it is complete windows update so it is not have KB number and you should update it from windows update panel.
it is an Insider fast ring update.
I Had the same problem and changed the Broadcom driver in device manager (select broadcom network adapter) -> update driver -> browse my computer -> let me pick -> uncheck show compatable hardware -> then I selected Broadcom 802.11ac network adapter version: 7.35.118.40[7/24/2015]
started the update again and it worked. No issues with the connection after the change that I can see.
UPDATE: Once I logged in the first time after the update, I had to go assign a driver again using the same process I outlined in my last post. I used the original driver that was listed in the error message. I then connected with no problem.
I cannot see Broadcom 802.11ac driver in the list after I update my windows so I restore previous version.
I have the same issue when migrating to build 11102 and your workaround doesn't seems to work... Any hints?
UPDATE: Just installed a newer Broadcom 802.11ac driver (7.35.338.0), and the problem is fixed!
